The Importance of Dentistry
Dentistry is critically important to health and well-being. Teeth that function properly are essential for optimal nutrition. Unhealthy teeth and gums can contribute to systemic conditions as bacteria from the mouth can more easily enter the blood stream. The smile also reveals a great deal about a person--not only one's disposition, but how much value one places on appearance as well. It is an important ingredient for success and self-esteem--every bit as important as an expensive suit or a fancy car. A nice smile communicates confidence, attractiveness and friendliness.
The art and science of Dentistry has many facets that include knowledge of biology, medicine, engineering, materials science, psychology, business, artistry, humanitarianism and leadership. Good dentistry is not only life-enhancing, it is every bit as dramatic as plastic surgery. Dentistry is one of the few fields where everything made for a patient is custom made to tolerances within tenths of millimeters. Fabricated from precious materials, it is comparable to the most exquisite jewelry. Unlike jewelry, successful dental restorations are designed to withstand significant forces in a wet environment 24 hours a day.

Dentistry at our office is done to perfection. We do not skip steps or take short cuts that might compromise the outcome. Our temporary restorations are blueprints for the permanent restorations. They are not only designed to promote comfort, proper function and health between visits, but to dramatically improve appearance as well.
About the Office
Our office has been helping patients since 1948. It was founded by Dr. Elliot Feinberg, an expert in full mouth restorative dentistry who restored thousands of full mouth cases with crown and bridgework, precision attachments and implant restorations. The principles and techniques which he used have a well-established reputation for success that were based on the teachings of his predecessor, Dr. I. Franklin Miller. The evidence for his techniques was documented in a collection of more than 100,000 slides that date back to 1950. Dr. Elliot Feinberg was also a renowned instructor who gave demonstration courses to dentists in the office from 1957 to 1997. The office continues to provide care to patients according to the principles and teachings of Dr. Elliot Feinberg.
These teachings continue through the Westchester Academy of Restorative Dentistry, which was founded by Dr. Feinberg, in 1957. The Academy's mission is to promote post-graduate study, evaluate new concepts and discoveries, advance the level of Restorative Dentistry and conduct diagnostic evaluation of the more difficult problems in Restorative Dentistry.
